Benjamin Franklin was an

American polymath:

He attended Boston Latin School

but did not graduate;

he continued his education

through voracious reading.

seeking a new start in a new city.

In 1732, Franklin began to publish

the Poor Richard's Almanack,

with content both original and borrowed

on which much of his popular reputation

was gained.

Fiction has to make sense.

Rand advocated reason

and rejected faith and religion.

She supported rational and ethical egoism

as opposed to altruism and hedonism.

Atlas Shrugged is considered

Rand's magnum opus.

 She described the novel's theme as

"the role of the mind in man's existence,

and the morality of rational self-interest".

It advocates the core tenets

of Rand's philosophy of Objectivism

and expresses her concept

of human achievement.

Rand described her approach to literature

as "romantic realism."

She wanted her fiction

to present the world

"...as it could be

and should be,

rather than

as it was."

The Truth is not for all men,

but only for those who seek it.

Live and act within the limit

Achievement of your happiness
